How do I get rid of cold sore swelling?
The cold sore itself is in the last stages of healing: scabbed quite nicely. The swollen lip, however, doesn’t want to seem to go away. Ice makes it hurt worse, and I can’t really tell if the warm/hot teabag is doing anything, though it does feel better on my lip than the ice.

I’m taking Lysine and that seems to have helped the healing, but not the swelling. It’s about twice as big as usual. Suggestions?

How to ged rid of swelling from a cold sore.?
I’m wondering if anyone has any tips on how to get rid of swelling from a cold sore. I’m not looking for tips on how to get rid of the actually sore, it’s the swelling that I have issues with. Whenever I get a cold sore I swell up so much that it actually looks like I was in an accident and I hit my mouth, or I had my lips done.
    HELP!!

I know what you go through i have the same problem. I tend to use ice, i put an ice cube on my cold sore for about 10 Min’s till it is numb then leave it for a few hours then do it again i repeat this for two days, it takes away the swelling and it reduces the amount of time the cold sore is there for.

      I hope this helps you

This is day three of my lip being swollen to at least double normal. I don’t have insurance or money to go get a prescription.
